1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using VocalLab ("the Service"), operated by V17 Labs, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by these terms, please do not use this service.

2. Description of Service

VocalLab is a browser-based professional voiceover recording application that applies studio-grade effects while you record. The service includes:

• Professional voiceover recording with built-in effects (EQ, compression, reverb, de-esser)
• One-click presets for instant professional sound
• Dual-track recording (processed audio + raw safety track)
• Crash-proof recording with auto-save every 5 seconds
• Broadcast-standard LUFS metering and audio analysis
• Optional: Real-time audio processing for streaming/calls (requires virtual audio cable setup)

Important: All audio processing happens locally in your browser - we do not store, transmit, or access your audio content. You must provide microphone access for recording features to function properly. VocalLab records in WAV format (lossless, professional quality).

3. User Accounts and Eligibility

You may create an account to access additional features. You must be at least 13 years old to use VocalLab. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Subscription Plans and Pricing

VocalLab offers the following subscription plans:

• Unlimited professional voiceover recording
• All audio effects and processing tools
• 13 built-in presets

• Broadcast-standard LUFS metering
• No time limits or recording restrictions

4.2 Pro Plan Pricing

Pro plan pricing varies by region to ensure fair and accessible pricing globally:

4.4 Billing Terms

Automatic Renewal: Paid subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 48 hours before the end of the current billing period. You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting our support team.

Price Changes: We reserve the right to modify subscription prices with 30 days notice to existing subscribers. Price changes will not affect your current billing period.

Taxes: Prices in some regions are shown exclusive of taxes. Applicable sales tax, VAT, GST, or other local taxes will be calculated and added at checkout based on your billing address. Our payment processors (Paddle, Creem, or Razorpay) handle all tax compliance.

Payment Processing: The payment processor used depends on your billing location. See section 5 for details on payment processing by region.

5. Payment Terms and Processing

5.1 Payment Processing

Payments are processed through different trusted partners based on your billing location and optimal routing:

• Global customers: Payments processed by Paddle or Creem as Merchant of Record
• Regional customers: Payments processed by Razorpay

5.2 Billing and Charges

By making a purchase, you agree to provide current, complete, and accurate billing information. You authorize V17 Labs and our payment processors to charge your selected payment method for all fees associated with your subscription.

5.3 Statement Appearance

• Paddle payments: Will appear as "Paddle.com*" on your statement
• Creem payments: Will appear as "CREEM.IO* STORE" on your statement
• Razorpay payments: Will appear as "VocalLab" on your statement

5.4 Tax Compliance

• Paddle customers: Paddle handles all applicable taxes and compliance as Merchant of Record
• Creem customers: Creem handles all applicable taxes and compliance as Merchant of Record
• Razorpay customers: Local taxes applied as required by law

6. Refund and Cancellation Policy

6.1 Refund Eligibility

15-Day Money-Back Guarantee: We offer a 15-day refund period from the date of purchase for all paid subscriptions. Refunds may be denied only in cases of:

• Violation of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy
• Fraudulent activity or account abuse
• Duplicate refund requests for the same transaction

No Usage Restrictions: You may use all Pro features during the refund period without affecting your eligibility for a full refund.

6.2 Cancellation Policy

Immediate Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings or by contacting support. Upon cancellation:

• Future billing will stop immediately
• You retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period
• Your account will automatically downgrade to Free plan at period end
• No partial refunds are provided for unused time in the current billing period

6.3 Refund Processing

Processing Timeline: Approved refunds are processed according to your payment method:

• Paddle customers: Card refunds typically 3-5 working days, PayPal refunds within 48 hours
• Creem customers: Refunds processed through Creem's system, typically within 5-10 business days
• Razorpay customers: Normal refunds within 5-7 business days, instant refunds available in some cases

Important Notes:

• Refunds are processed to your original payment method only
• Original transaction fees charged by payment processors may not be reversible (industry standard)
• Your refund amount may be slightly less than the original charge due to payment processing fees

Refund Requests: To request a refund, contact our support team at info@vocallab.io with:

• Your account email address
• Transaction ID or order reference
• Reason for refund request (optional)

6.4 Fraud Protection

To protect against fraudulent activity:

• Refunds are limited to one per customer per product
• We monitor for patterns of abuse or fraudulent refund requests
• Accounts flagged for suspicious activity may have refund requests reviewed manually

6.5 Disputes and Chargebacks

We encourage contacting our support team before initiating chargebacks or payment disputes. Chargebacks may result in account suspension pending resolution. Both **Paddle,** Creem, and Razorpay have chargeback protection measures in place.

7. Privacy and Data Protection

Audio Data: Your audio recordings, files, and microphone input are never stored, transmitted, or accessed by us. All audio processing happens locally in your browser.

Personal Data: We collect and process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws including GDPR.

Payment Data: Payment information is processed and stored by our payment processors (**Paddle,** Creem, and Razorpay) according to their respective privacy policies and security standards.

8. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use VocalLab to:

• Process illegal, harmful, offensive, or copyrighted audio content without permission
• Impersonate another person's voice without their explicit consent, including celebrities, public figures, or private individuals
• Create deepfake audio or voice clones for deceptive, fraudulent, or malicious purposes
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Interfere with the service's security, performance, or availability
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit the service
• Share account credentials or allow unauthorized access
• Use the service for commercial redistribution without proper licensing
• Circumvent payment processing or subscription limitations

Voice Ethics Policy: VocalLab is designed for enhancing your own voice and creating original audio content. Any use that could deceive others about the identity of the speaker is strictly prohibited. This includes but is not limited to impersonating others for fraud, harassment, or unauthorized commercial purposes.

Payment Processor Compliance: You also agree not to use the Service for any purpose that is prohibited by our payment partners. For global users, this includes items on Paddle's Prohibited Products list, Creem's Prohibited Products list, and compliance with their acceptable use policies. For regional users, this includes compliance with Razorpay's acceptable use policies. Using VocalLab for prohibited activities may result in immediate account termination and payment processing restrictions.

9. Intellectual Property Rights

VocalLab and its original content, features, functionality, and user interface are owned by V17 Labs and are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws. The VocalLab name and branding are proprietary to V17 Labs. You retain full ownership of any audio content you create, upload, or process through our service.

10. Service Availability and Limitations

VocalLab is provided "as is" and "as available." While we strive for optimal uptime, we do not guarantee that the Service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs. You use the Service at your own risk. We may occasionally offer experimental or beta features that may contain bugs or interruptions.

11. Third-Party Services

VocalLab integrates with third-party services including:

• Supabase: Database and authentication services
• Paddle: Global payment processing and merchant of record services
• Creem: Global payment processing and merchant of record services
• Razorpay: Regional payment processing services
• PostHog: Analytics (with your consent) and Error Monitoring

Your use of these integrated services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, V17 Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless V17 Labs, its officers, employees, and affiliates from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

14. Account Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, for any breach of these Terms of Service. Upon termination, your right to use the service will cease immediately, and any data associated with your account may be deleted. Active subscriptions will be cancelled according to the refund policy.

15. Force Majeure

V17 Labs shall not be liable for delays or failures in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, internet outages, cyberattacks, or government actions.

16. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the service at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

17. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law

These Terms shall be interpreted and governed by the laws of India, specifically the state of Tamil Nadu, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Karur, Tamil Nadu, India.

Payment Disputes: Payment-related disputes may be subject to the dispute resolution procedures of the applicable payment processor (Paddle, Creem, or Razorpay) in addition to these terms.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law.
